Bought a groupon for this tour after seeing the great reviews on tripadvisor. The lady who runs the tours is really nice and allowed me to switch my reservations 3 times. Reservations are very easy to book on the website and the meeting place is very easy to find. I’ve been on 3 other ghost tours before this one so I pretty much know all of the stories of the French Quarter. The lady giving the tour definitely knows her history but her stories were WAY too long winded and way too detailed. Her first story was the Zach and Addie story at the hotel which should not have taken more than 5 minutes max but she literally spent 30 minutes (20 minutes of back story about where they went to college, what food they liked, etc all irrelevant to the punch line of the story). After about 10 minutes, she lost most of the tour group. Everyone started pulling out their phones and texting and everyone in my group completely lost interest and wanted to leave. The second story was a bit better and to the point but still a bit long winded. My group was completely disinterested at this point and we left the tour. I felt bad for leaving because the lady is really nice and she is very well prepared for the tour but her story telling abilities weren’t that great. I think if she made her stories a bit more concise and got to the point earlier, people would be much more engaged and interested in the stories. Too much set up, not enough punch line. Hopefully her stories got better as the tour went on but my friends with their short attention spans gave up early. 2 stars for interesting stories and 4 stars for organization and ease of booking.
