The Hawthorne Ghost Tour is a fun, exciting, and educational adventure through the heart of East Portland’s old red light district. This is an outdoor walking tour that takes one and a half hours, during which we will walk approximately a mile and a half. We have frequent stops to tell spooky and real-life stories about Portland and the Pacific Northwest, and we attempt to make contact with the hereafter at two separate locations, weather permitting.
The tour meets at the SE corner of 37th and SE Hawthorne. We have tours at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. As one of the most popular tours in the Southeast, we do take walk-ups, but we have to limit size to 20 people per tour. We take most major Holidays off.

We did our tour on Friday the 13th. It was a lot spookier than I expected, which I was glad about because we wanted spooky and our guide (Marina) delivered! Marina has lots of stories to share! She did say that she can customize the tour depending on her audience (she can make it suitable if there are kids). She provided instruments for us to use to communicate with ghosts (well, I was too much of a wuss to try!) and it was such a cool experience. Very unique thing to do on a Friday night and we had a blast! I will never think of Hawthorne street in the same way!
